Dr. Fauci has been touted as the go-to expert on guidance for the COVID-19 response by the corporate media and increasingly has been championed by liberals as a trustworthy source. Presumably this faith in Dr. Fauci stems from Trump’s overt dislike for the guy.
If Trump hates a person, liberals love that person. This is unofficially dubbed as TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome). It’s why liberals have suddenly revered warmongering sociopaths like George W. Bush, Robert Mueller, Mitt Romney, and John Bolton, all because they happen to have expressed opposition to Captain Cheese Doodle. The rationale behind it seems to be a subconscious belief that the enemy of my enemy is my friend, a logistical fallacy at best. A liar calling Trump a liar doesn’t make the finger-pointer any less of a liar.
By no means should this critique be mistaken as a defense for Trump. I didn’t vote for him nor do I remotely support him. But to be a knee-jerk contrarian toward any and all things Trump without first exercising critical thinking skills is as ignorant as that orange bastard has shown himself to be. The answer to irrationality cannot be more irrationality.
Trump doesn’t trust Dr. Fauci. The media wants us to believe that Trump’s judgment must be wrong because… well, he’s Trump.
The corporate media is lumping together Trump’s doubt of Dr. Fauci with Trump’s doubt of science, as if both or neither must be valid. It’s dishonest for the corporate media to conflate the two.
Here’s why Trump is actually right:
“If you look at the masks that you buy in a drug store, the leakage around that doesn’t really do much to protect you. People start saying, ‘Should I start wearing a mask?’ Now, in the United States, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever to wear a mask.” – Dr. Fauci, February 17, 2020
Of course, now we know that was a complete lie.
That’s not the only concern. The National Institutes of Health to EcoHealth Alliance, which operates directly under the National Institute of Health (NIH), awarded a $3.7 million grant for coronavirus research for the purposes of understanding “what factors allow coronaviruses, including close relatives to SARS, to evolve and jump into the human population.” That grant was awarded by the Obama Administration to the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Yes, that Wuhan, the city where COVID-19 originated.
While I’m the last person to ever trust U.S. Intelligence reports at face value, they did concede that the pandemic may have leaked from the Wuhan lab. The only reason I remotely believe this to be true is because those Deep State cucks originally claimed the virus had occurred naturally. Then they backtracked. Which suggests that their original claim was the actual lie, meaning their concession was the more-likely truth. And since even the limited data from the Chinese government, which has no love for U.S. Intelligence, also pointed to Wuhan as being the epicenter of the virus, it’s fair to conclude that this was in fact how COVID-19 was born. The only question that remains is whether or not the leak was intentional or accidental.
What was a portion of that $3.7 million grant specifically used for at the Wuhan lab…? To understand what factors allow coronaviruses, including close relatives to SARS, to evolve and jump into the human population. Funny how SARS-2, aka COVID-19, just so happens to be quite adept at that whole evolving and jumping thing, isn’t it? This suspicious study was overseen by the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID). Since 1984, the person holding that position has been Dr. Anthony Fauci.
Not only did he lie to the American public about the effectiveness of wearing masks to reduce the spread of COVID-19, he also oversaw the same project that led to the birth of COVID-19. Much like the fictional Dr. Frankenstein, Dr. Fauci helped produce a monster, whether intentional or not, and then lied about it. People lie to hide a truth. It’s not a stretch to presume he’s attempting to bury his own complicity or, at the very least, bury the appearance of said complicity.
The real tragedy is that he’s put the credibility of the larger scientific community at risk. Yet Dr. Fauci’s training and credentials are strong and his professional expertise cannot be dismissed. His record shows he is a highly-respected, highly-accomplished scientist by any measure. But his recent personal willingness to lie (even if he really did so to ensure that masks were prioritized for medical professionals) and his suspicious connection to the Wuhan project (even if the virus leak was truly accidental), makes him an unacceptable liability. Giving him the benefit of the doubt doesn’t erase that doubt has already been established. And when it comes to anti-vaxxer, climate change denying America, nothing is more dangerous to science than doubt. It only help to validate the ignorant.
If Trump fires Dr. Fauci, liberals will likely throw a tantrum. But firing him would be in the best interest of the scientific community. The longer he remains on Trump’s Coronavirus Task Force the more Americans will question anything Fauci says and ergo risk rejecting real science. Justified or not, he is no longer credible in the eyes of the public even if 99% of what he says is legitimate science. He needs to go.
